Recommended Products
These are great products that Karen recommends but does not sell. You can purchase them at the vendor sites.
Rid O Rock
Rid O Rock is a service that may save you $2,000 to $10,000 on arena footing by breaking up your existing arena dirt, removing the rock, and leaving you with beautiful footing of a depth you’d like for your particular use. With proper grooming, this footing should last you 5–7 years.
Daily 72
Daily 72 ionic mineral supplement is unlike the old mineral / salt block in many ways, but mostly because of the ionic charge that allows the mineral to be fully utilized during digestion.
Corral 2 Go
Corrals2Go is a recent addition to my recommended products list, because I absolutely love these portable panels! I can set up / tear down two stalls within 40 minutes, and that’s loading or unloading the panels from my truck by myself. And the durability of Corrals2Go has sure been tested by my two big Andalusians!
K Bar J Leather
K Bar J Leather makes some of the finest quality working chaps and chinks I know of. I’ve used their gear for almost 15 years, and have always been happy with how it feels, wears and fits.
Sea Minerals
Sea Minerals are naturally extracted from the ocean through a simple evaporation process and packaged for ease of use, which is important for me! I take one capful with juice at night and I’ve felt more of a difference than with any other supplement I’ve used over many years.
AZ-Tex Hat
AZ-Tex Hat has shops in Scottsdale and Phoenix, AZ. They’ve been in business as long as I can remember (that’s a long time), and they’ve made me some terrific hats, always delivering the perfect fit with the exact style I had in mind.
Stellar Ranch
The leather riding skirt made by Maryanne Feller of Stellar Ranch in Bend, OR, is one of the loveliest pieces of ‘wearable art’ I’ve ever seen! Maryanne has been making chaps and chinks for some time, designed for light use with elegant designs only limited by the imagination.
Polocrosse Equipment
Quality polocrosse equipment is available through a distributor for Bombardier rackets. Email Sunni at sunni3332000@yahoo.com for information. Another online source for polocrosse equipment is www.polocrosseequip.com.
Horse Buddy Bopper
Horse Buddy Bopper is the ideal horse toy! Unlike a ball or something that moves away from the horse until they lose interest, this acts like a horse-size punching bag that interacts with the horse!
Dr. Robert M. Miller
Dr. Robert M. Miller is a world-renowned speaker and author on horse behavior and natural horsemanship. He is also father of the revolutionary foal training technique known as “imprint training.”
Kershaw Knives
If you’re playing with horses, you should ALWAYS carry a knife! Karen recommends a spring-loaded knife with a blunt end. Additionally, Karen recommends one should also carry a small, sharp-ended knife for other uses. Karen’s favorite knife is a Kershaw knife — Model 1675 RDST. This is the knife she carries in her back pocket with the blunt end blade. The other knife she carries is Model 1620ST. She carries this one in her front right pocket with the pointed blade that can be opened with one hand.
If Your Horse Could Talk
The folks at If Your Horse Could Talk understand how important play is to horses for both their physical and emotional wellbeing. They sell a horseplay ball and other toys that last and keep our herd amused.
Spook Less
Spook Less offers a series of 6 discipline-specific audio CDs for de-sensitizing your horse. The recordings are layered into intense audio scenes and will help your horse not to be distracted or "spooked" by frightening sounds.
