Horsemanship for Women may be just a little different than other approaches you’ve experienced with horses… that’s because it’s not just about the horse… it’s about you and your ability to demonstrate techniques from a position of ‘loving leadership’ with horses.
If you’ve ever felt frustrated, confused or even been made to feel ‘stupid’ about your horsemanship… join the club!! Everyone has times when we doubt our ability with horses, but women have a unique struggle because we are naturally afraid of doing it wrong and then the horse won’t like us!!
This tendency causes us to try treating our horses like a 'big puppy dog'... an approach we know doesn't help us load a horse confidently into a trailer, cross water, not spook, etc., but we simply don't know what else to do!!
My hope is that you feel better already!! You see, men and women process information differently; men want to know how to do something while women need to know why.
By having things explained a certain way, especially with an activity that holds potential physical risk, literally thousands of women (and men) are expanding their skills with horses, enjoying a more fulfilling experience with this special animal we all love.
